Can You Hear Me Now? Website is Live!

Start your slam team now!

Or, if you prefer, start your performance poetry club.

Either way, get it going now so your students are ready to represent their school and show the city the talented poets and performers that are walking the high school hallways in Calgary!

We’ll be putting all kinds of resources up here on the website in the coming days. Everything from information about How to Start a High School Poetry Team, to the Can You Hear Me Now? rules, to curricula (to help students write amazing poems), to podcast links with amazing performers talking about their writing and performance craft, to videos of amazing performances you can use to inspire and instruct your students.

If you have any questions, please email rgwagner@cbe.ab.ca or nancy.krar@cssd.ab.ca or acalm@cbe.ab.ca for more information about anything related to Can You Hear Me Now?

If you’d like to download your own copy of the Information Bulletin that was sent out to schools (for a reason other than you lost it), click here: CYHMN? Info Bulletin

A special “Thank You!” to Emilie “Nemo” Magnan of Prairie Fire – the slam team representing Calgary at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in Montreal this November – for getting this website up and going, for inspiration, for advice, and for amazing performance poetry! Best of luck!
